New Las Vegas Suburbs Ranking Among Highest in Nation
New suburbs in Las Vegas among the highest ranked in the nation.
According to a recent report, two local master planned communities are ranked in the top 15 best-selling planned communities in the United States. These communities, Summerlin and Providence, ranked 6th and 13th respectively, are the two that were cited in the report, but one that had been in the top 15 was mentioned as well.
Summerlin
Summerlin is located on the western side of Las Vegas Valley. During the first half of 2015, there were 327 closings. This number is up 32 percent over the same period in 2014, when it was ranked number 13 and sold 248 units. The gains can be largely attributed to the opening of the 1.6 million dollar dining, shopping, and entertainment district in Downtown Summerlin. So far, the community is on track to beat the 2014 total closing level of 437 closings.
Providence
In the northwest, Providence saw enough closings to reach the 13th place in the rankings. Unfortunately, their ranking came down from the 282 closings during the first part of 2014 to 256 closings in the first part of 2015. This decrease was 9% over the same period.
Mountain’s Edge
Located in southwest Las Vegas, Mountain’s Edge fell out of the top 20. This is due to the fact that they are nearing their “final closeout stage.”
Master planned communities are found all over the country. The best-selling community was Florida’s The Villages, which is an age-qualified community. This community sold over 1,000 units during the first six months of 2015.
